UltraCard signs Agreement with CPI Card Group
LOS GATOS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- July 20, 2000 -- UltraCard, Inc. is pleased to announce a Joint Venture Development and Supply Agreement which will allow CPI Card Group, Inc. (CPI) to design, develop and supply cards compatible with UltraCard's magnetic substrate card technology.
UltraCard owns a range of proprietary and patented technologies that provide high security, high storage capacities, re-writeable data storage that is the equivalent of a hard drive in a wallet sized format?a card.
Leidy Fogel, Vice President of Manufacturing for CPI said, "Our facilities will be ready to meet the needs of UltraCard's high volume production. We are pleased to be teamed with the technology leader in card memory capacity, security and low cost."
CPI will also use advanced R&D facilities to handle the design of the UltraCard product and will deliver custom product cards for use as a feature technology at the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles, Ca. August 14 through August 17, 2000. UltraCard intends to show various applications that will demonstrate the power of the card at the convention at Staples Center.
